Integrated Trial Work Experiences (ITWE)

For the purposes of the US Department of Justice and the State of RI Consent Decree — an ITWE is the opportunity to work in a real job in an integrated employment setting alongside non-disabled co-workers, customers, and/or peers with appropriate supports. The ITWE should be selected through a person-centered planning process that considers an individual’s interest, skills, and abilities. All youth covered under the Consent Decree will have the opportunity prior to school exit to experience at least two 60 day trial work experiences.
